The $100,000 Question

Shall I go on with the restaurant or pull the plug? My electrician finally provided a quote for his electrical work and for the HVAC systems. Total cost... $96,500. Budget was $70,000. With this and the other cost overruns (water connection fee of $13,000 for a restaurant, etc) I'm trying to decide whether to pull the plug or not. I've requested quotes from other electricians but I've been told that the job is too big or they are too busy to do the work. I need a few days to think this through. In the mean time, renovation work continues.

I think it would be a real shame if the restaurant didn't happen. But I can understand how you feel about going over budget.
